Grounded Grenache is a wine shaped by humility, restraint and a deep respect for place. Rather than forcing the variety into a predetermined style, the wine is allowed to remain true to itself and to the Tulbagh soils in which it was grown—expressive, generous and quietly distinctive.
The label depicts a woman riding a donkey: an enduring symbol of simplicity, patience and staying close to the earth. It captures the principle behind the name Grounded—that true character does not need to announce itself. It is found in authenticity, in knowing where you come from, and in allowing the land to speak.
In the glass, the wine offers fragrant aromas of red cherry, wild strawberry and raspberry, layered with hints of dried herbs, fynbos, white pepper and gentle spice. The palate is bright and supple, with pure red fruit, fine-grained tannins and a savoury mineral quality that brings freshness and balance. Elegant rather than heavy, it finishes with lingering notes of spice, herbs and sun-warmed earth.
A graceful, versatile Grenache that is equally at home at the table or enjoyed slowly on its own—uncomplicated, authentic and firmly rooted in its origins.
